SHOW AT LE MUSÉE NATIONAL PICASSO - PARIS
SUNDAY 25TH OF JANUARY 2026
“Le Palmier” celebrates the familiar Jacquemus references that inspired Simon’s ingenuous nonchalance and creativity during his early years living in Paris. The season's attitude is inspired by his daughter’s palm-tree ponytail.
This spontaneous, sculptural beauty recalls both 1950’s couture shapes and a 1990’s sensuality with a satirical 1980’s humor brought to life in the caustic tones of the era’s French films or technicolor television shows. “Le Palmier” celebrates a woman poised to steal the show from the cheeky icons that marked Simon's childhood.
Jacquemus returns to the Picasso Museum. Located in the heart of Paris, this perfect showcase for the Jacquemus universe has opened a decisive chapter in the history of the maison.
The 17th century mansion welcomes the Fall-Winter 2026 collection, “Le Palmier” in an atmosphere evoking the first glow of a party evening.
Around the upcoming Jacquemus show, ”Le Palmier”, unfolds a series of teaser videos, imagined by Simon Porte Jacquemus and written and directed by Valérie Donzelli.
”Le Palmier” takes the form of a short choral comedy, a series of videos with subtly burlesque humor. It echoes French influences from the 1980s and 1990s, drawn from television and cinema that shaped Simon Porte Jacquemus’s childhood.
Through the lens of a social soirée, the series becomes a stage for shifting roles and playful masquerades. In her direction, Valérie Donzelli chose to cast her own children as well as close friends, a strong gesture that highlights the values of family, transmission, and intimacy at the heart of Jacquemus.
